Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GratefulFund ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

2. Use of the Platform

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or campaign. You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

3. Campaign Organizers

Organizers are responsible for the accuracy and legality of their campaigns. Campaigns must be for lawful purposes. GratefulFund reserves the right to review, suspend, or remove any campaign at its discretion. Organizers must connect a valid Stripe account to receive funds. Misrepresentation of campaign purpose may result in account termination and legal action.

4. Church Giving

GratefulFund offers hosted online giving pages for churches ("Church Giving"). Churches must register as organizers, provide accurate church information, and be approved by GratefulFund before their giving page goes live. Church representatives are responsible for the accuracy of church details, fund designations, and use of received gifts.

Gifts made through Church Giving are voluntary contributions to the designated church and fund. GratefulFund is not a church, religious organization, or tax advisor. Churches are responsible for their own legal compliance, record-keeping, and any tax receipts they issue to givers.

Church gifts are subject to a platform fee and payment processing fees disclosed on the giving page. The giver pays the amount entered; fees are deducted before the net amount is credited to the church. Card gifts are processed through Stripe; mobile money gifts may be processed through PawaPay where available. Churches must complete required payout setup (such as Stripe Connect) to receive card gift payouts.

GratefulFund may suspend or remove a church giving page that violates these Terms, misrepresents the church, or receives credible reports of fraud or misuse.

5. Donations and Gifts

Campaign donations and church gifts are processed through third-party payment providers (including Stripe and, where available, PawaPay). By giving, you agree to the applicable provider's terms. GratefulFund does not store payment card numbers. Donations and gifts are generally non-refundable unless the organizer or church explicitly agrees to a refund or as required by law.

6. Platform Tips

Donors may optionally add a tip when donating to a campaign to support GratefulFund operations. These tips are voluntary and go directly to GratefulFund. Tips are separate from the campaign donation amount. Church giving gifts do not include optional tips; they are subject to the platform fee described in Section 4.

7. Prohibited Content

You may not use GratefulFund for illegal activities, fraud, hate speech, harassment, or any content that violates applicable laws. We reserve the right to remove content and ban users who violate these terms.

8. Limitation of Liability

GratefulFund is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for disputes between donors or givers and organizers or churches, campaign or giving outcomes, payment processing issues caused by third parties, or any indirect or consequential damages.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or platform notice.
