Oakwood Community Garden & Green Space

For years, the empty lot at the corner of Maple and 5th has been an eyesore — overgrown, littered, and forgotten. The Oakwood Neighborhood Association has secured permission from the city to transform it into something extraordinary.

Our vision: a community garden with 30 raised beds available to residents, a small playground for children, native plant landscaping and shade trees, a covered gathering space for events, and composting and rainwater collection systems.

This project will bring neighbors together, provide fresh food access to families, give children a safe place to play, and make Oakwood a more beautiful, livable neighborhood. The city has matched our first $10,000 — now we need community support to complete the transformation.
