A hammer mill for Area 25 farmers

Members of the Area 25 cooperative in Lilongwe grow maize but mill it at a private hammer mill a minibus ride away. The milling fee and the transport take a painful share of a bag.

A diesel hammer mill, shelter, and first service kit is quoted at MWK 22 million from a supplier in Kanengo. The cooperative has a plot and a member who already runs a mill.
